Magical in Sewer Town
For some reason most of Ann Arbor smells like it has a plumbing problem. Also, the food sucks. I found the food in London to be less bland.
But the people - super friendly! The men - pleasant to look at. The pretentiousness - non-existent. The football game - superb to the point of making the game rather dull to watch.
And the man that led me there - wonderful.
I fully expected this past weekend to be absolute crap. I planned brunch with my little sis [student at NYU] on the way back because I figured I’d need a pick-me-up by Sunday. What I experienced instead was a weekend that couldn’t have been more perfect even if I had planned out every detail.
It wasn’t that kind of sweep me off my feet because of the sweet nothings he says and does. I think maybe I’m a bit too experienced/cynical for that these days. It was more like a hanging out with a best friend, making love to my favorite lover and falling asleep under my favorite comforter kind of perfect.
I now know without a doubt that if this doesn’t work out in the long run I’m just going to stop dating completely because there is no way that this can exist with more than one person in my lifetime.
